Brothers Beer!

Brothers Beer was started by a couple of mates from Auckland who love good beer. Deciding to pursue their dream, Ant and Andy rented a shed in the decrepit but soon to be rejuvenated City Works Depot and in December 2012 Brothers Beer opened its doors.

A tight budget resulted in the creation of a simple, relaxed space with recycled carpet and retro couches where people felt comfortable bringing their kids and their dogs, parents and grandparents. Beer was brewed on site using a 500L brewhouse, filling the space with steamy aromas of malt and hops. Brothers Beer was an immediate success and soon the search for a new brewery site began.

An old leather-goods warehouse in Mount Eden was transformed into ‘The Mothership’ and in September 2015 Brothers Beer opened a 52,000L capacity brewery with an adjacent bar, sunny courtyard and American-style BBQ restaurant.

Additional production capacity meant we could begin to sell beer externally and Brothers Beer in its distinctive squat bottle began appearing at New Zealand’s best bars, restaurants and liquor retailers.

Head Brewer Brandon Nash, who learnt his trade at iconic Bay Area breweries Speakeasy and Faction, produces full-flavoured, hop-forward beers that blend the best of American and New Zealand brewing traditions, and have grown a legion of devoted local fans.

Now producing a core range of over 20 craft beers, 3 ciders, and monthly seasonal beers.

In short, and in their own words: "We make good beer for good people."
