Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Halletts and Langmeil). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label utilising vines that have an average age of 20 years old. Maturation is American oak, 90% used and 10% new.

A super dense, high octane beast of monstrous power.

Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Lustful and potent the nose is filled with liquorice, black plum and ripe black cherry scents. Also chiming in are some vanillin oak, subtle mocha and spice notes. Dense, thick and heavy the palate boasts a liqueur like concentration and texture ? liquorice, blackberry, black plum and black cherry fruits saturate the mouth with vanillin oak, subtle scorched earth and pepper characters then ensuing. The tannin structure is bold and sturdy but comes across with a velvet like feel due to the sheer volume and weight of fruit. There?s some heat to the finish as one would expect for such a large-scale wine but it still manages to be balanced. Outstanding power finishing long and decadent. Not a style for everybody but if you?re a fan of ultra rich, high octane bruisers then this will be right up your alley.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
