Vi?a Pomal was the creation of Don Santiago de Ugarte, co-founder of Bodegas Bilba?nas and the company's first Managing Director. The first label seen bearing Vi?a Pomal as a brand belongs to a 1904 Vintage Special Reserve (a truly exceptional year).

Although they would later merge as a single brand, 1904 saw the birth not only of Vi?a Pomal, but also of Castle Pomal which, produced for the British market, reveals the importance then and now, of the brand's international presence. It is of note that only the Castle Pomal label showed the arms of the Spanish Royal Family, to which the winery was official supplier of wine.

Vi?a Pomal Garnacha is part of the collection of mono-varietals from Bodegas Bilba?nas, Vi?a Pomal Vinos Singulares. Selection of old vines at altitude above 600m where we find a greater balance and freshness in the expression. This Grenache wants to demonstrate the aromatic potential of a variety that is the most planted in the world. A Grenache of high areas, that has freshness and all its fruit power, with great volume. That is harmonious, without sin of excesses.

A fragrant and delicate noe, blending intense fruitiness (blueberries, raspberry) with floral notes (jasmine, violet) and a hint of camomile.
The palate has a great deal of body and freshness with velvety tannins. A silky and amiable mouthfeel with a lingering buttery finish.
