This Chardonnay is from fruit from our Roy’s Hill Vineyard. The clone of Chardonnay is Clone 15 which produces low to moderate yields and rich fruit flavours. Only two barrels were made.
Certified organic, the 2019 vintage (4.5*) is a single-vineyard wine, estate-grown at Roys Hill. Fermented and matured for six months in French oak barrels, it was given a full, softening malolactic fermentation. Bright, light yellow/green, it is fresh, full-bodied, sweet-fruited and generous, with concentrated stonefruit flavours, well-integrated oak and a well-rounded finish. Still youthful but already drinking well, it should be at its best 2021+.
