The Estates Tier highlights wines sourced from a collection of vineyards in select appellations within Napa Valley deemed by Robert Mondavi's winemakers to be among the very best. The Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a traditional blend of all five Bordeaux varietals, with the final blend selected to showcase freshness and complexity while maintaining the beautiful varietal character of fruit from Oakville.

VINEYARD SOURCING: The fruit for this wine came predominantly from our To Kalon Vineyard, which is located on prime benchland in the Oakville District appellation. The well-drained, low-fertility soils and optimal sun exposure here enable the development of rich, complex flavors, impeccable phenolic maturity and varietal character.

VINTAGE NOTES: The 2021 growing season was excellent and mild. After rains in January and February, the season remained dry. The weather was optimal at budbreak in April, bloom in May, and through the summer into harvest. A lower-than-average yield resulted in small, deeply concentrated grapes. The fruit was harvested by hand between September 14 and October 21. In the cellar, the wine spent 23 days on the skins to heighten varietal character and complexity. Each log aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (100% new), ensuring seamless integration of fruit, tannins, and oak, before the final blend was determined.
