Port Askaig 17yo is selected from American oak casks that have allowed for a slow and gentle maturation of 17 years. While the source of this whisky is kept secret, there are distinct notes of ham, melon and citrus that is common to a northern Islay distillery. The mellow, medicinal peat smoke shows salty minerality, joining herbaceous tones and red fruit sweetness.
