(18.5/20) Raymond Chan Wine Reviews by Candice Chow
‘Premium’ (90/100) Cameron Douglas MS
The wine has a crystal clear hue with a gorgeous blackboy peach / crabapple colour. The nose is immediately spicey with nutmeg, cardamon, and almond followed by mandarin zest, a hint of peach/nectarine and cherry blossom. There is captivating stone fruit on the palate with freshly squeezed citrus, melon, tamarind and sweet cherry. The palate is intricately woven with fine tannin derived from the skin/stalk fermentation and apt acidity from a cooler growing season. This is a particularly fun wine to experiment with serving temperatures. When served directly out of the fridge, the fruit and acidity will be elevated. When naturally warmed to room temperature, the spice and tannin will shine through. Intriguing as a young wine with numerous food pairing options, this wine will continue to develop for 10+ years if stored properly with particular care to keep out of light.
