Festbier is nowadays the most consumed beer at the annual Oktoberfest in Munich, Bavaria. While there are numerous breweries making their version of it, only six of the breweries are able to pour their beer at the actual Festival.
This beer is our interpretation of the smooth Bavarian Nectar. Expect a clean and well balanced deep gold Lager with a bready, malty richness and light floral noble hop characters.
Originated from the slightly stronger and darker M?rzen beer, which translates to March, the month in which this beer traditionally used to be brewed. Due to increased chance of spoilage it was forbidden to brew in the summer, so the beer was brewed early and matured in cellars until Oktoberfest began. In order to keep these cellars cool, chestnut trees were planted above them. Their large leaves provided shade and thanks to their shallow growing roots the cellars remained undamaged.
This created the typical beer garden ambience, in which we all love to drink a few cold ones underneath the chestnut trees.
Prost!
