ASKOS Susumaniello IGP Salento is a red wine produced by Masseria Li Veli in Cellino San Marco. Produced from Susumaniello grapes grown on land in the Cellino San Marco countryside.
This wine is the result of the project of Masseria Li Veli dedicated to the research, selection and enhancement of the heritage of Apulian native vines in danger of extinction. The wines are produced exclusively with grapes from areas with a particular vocation, in which the vine is bred according to the canons of ancient memory. On the bottle, the logo that appears is that of an “Askos” Greek decanter of the first century BC, which gives this wine its name. The harvest takes place in the first week of October, with manual harvesting. It follows the pigmenting and a controlled temperature vinification. The refinement is perfected for 9 months in oak barrels, followed by final maturation in the bottle.
The ASKOS Susumiello has a ruby red colour with violet reflections. On the nose, it presents aromas of red berry fruit such as raspberry, marasca cherry and cassis followed by liquorice, rhubarb, leather. In the mouth, it enters soft and of good fatness. It is elegant and balanced, with fully integrated tannins. The finish is long with a touch of acidity for a feeling of great freshness.
