The Duoro Tinto from Churchill Estates is a blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, and 30% each of Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. About 33% of the juice was aged for 12 months in a mixture of new and used French oak; the rest in stainless steel. In its youth, this has a rush of fruit with a big chunk of acidity in the background. It is otherwise soft and friendly, with some stonewashed nuances. It ends with fine purity of fruit as the stainless steel component prevails. Its lively demeanor and understated feel make it rather attractive with food.

Churchill-Graham was founded by Johnny Graham in 1981, scion of the famous Graham Port house. The house carries his wife?s surname ?Churchill? after which the Ports are named. Churchill Graham has also been one of the protagonists of modern Douro Valley wine, made with the indigenous and noble red varieties, offering much greater accessibility to the wider international market. These wines under the ?Churchill Estates? banner have quickly gained a following for their unique character, not only from the varieties used, but also their expression of place. The company has various tiers from the fruit-expressive wines to single quinta bottlings - designed to age.
