Church Road 1 is a story of provenance and our single vineyard offering showcasing the unique character of our very best vineyards from the best sub-regions in Hawke?s Bay including the famed Redstone, Tuki Tuki and Gimblett Gravels sites. Our winemakers take a back seat and allow the land to stamp its mark on the wine so it reveals a true expression of place in every glass, every time.

 This is serious Merlot with a core of brooding, dark, plummy fruit, subtle violet and flowering thyme aromas and a hint of graphite, all supported by balanced oak bringing cedar, spice and smoke notes.

A full, supple mid palate leads into a powerful finish with firm but fine-grained tannin driving great length and back palate presence.
