Casa Santos Lima is a large, family owned, innovative Portuguese wine company, producing excellent wines across the board from indigenous traditional grape varieties, often blended with newcomers - to good effect.

Colossal is a great example and is a blend of the great Portuguese red grape, Touriga Nacional, an extremely fashionable, dark skinned grape considered to be Portugal?s best red. Here, it is blended with Syrah, Tinta Roriz (Portugal's name for Tempranillo) and a dash of 10% Alicante Bouschet, a tinteurier variety, which has deeply coloured red flesh. 

This wine tastes big, bold and smooth but with a soft mouth feel, and it has great potential for aging.
