The Carrick Bannockburn Pinot Noir is known for its structure and its ability to age well over a long period of time. The 2016 Vintage is marked for its great line and length, supported by soft supple tannins and aromas in the red-currant and cherry spectrum. With further contemplation it is possible to pick up on vanilla notes from oak ageing and an introduction of tertiary notes from bottle age, which contributes an earthy forest-floor complexity.

The fruit comes from a parcel of vines which are entirely grown on their own roots and are the oldest vines we have on the property. Now 25 years old. All fruit is hand-picked and fermeneted using natural yeasts, in small open top fermenters and ages in barrel for 10 months, with 15% new oak used. Each barrel is checked and tasted before blending and remains in tank over harvest, giving it time to come together.

Schist based Alluvial loess, 30 meters deep.100% Pinot Noir on its own roots planted 1993.
Organic certification to European Union equivalence since 2008.
