This whisky comes from the Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay, and is made from their peated spirit, named Staoisha.

This is a classic heavily peated Islay whisky, thick with peat smoke and medicinal (old first-aid kit) character. The distinctive nuttyness of Bunnahabhain comes through, with roasted peanuts joining salted-caramel and malt-biscuit sweetness.
This single cask was bottled exclusively for New Zealand. It is not available for sale anywhere else in the world, and we are proud to make this available to you and your customers now.

On the nose, a rich and oily scent of toasted peanuts surrounded by thick peat smoke and a medicinal quality of old first-aid kits (bandages and antiseptic) and salted-caramel. To taste, there is sweet, malty chocolate biscuits joining a tang of salt & vinegar chips, before a surge of rich peat smoke carried on a highly viscous mouthfeel.
