Benromach distillery was first established in 1898 in the Speyside area of Forres, Scotland. Known for its subtle smoke character, Benromach Single Malt Whisky varies from lightly peated to heavily peated, whilst maintaining the typical light, fruity characteristics of Speyside whiskies. These characteristics make Benromach whisky quite a unique Speyside offering.
From the Benromach Distillery comes this peaty expression, matured in first-fill sherry hogsheads. It’s made in small batches, using heavily peated barley. Those smoky notes are offset with the deep fruit and oak that comes from the maturation.
It pours a light Mahogany.
Cinnamon and ginger aromas with rich dark chocolate giving way to soft demerara sugar. Seville orange peel with sweet smoke.
On the palate it's cocoa powder and sweet, creamy honeycomb accompany stewed red berries. Subtle vanilla and cracked black pepper lead to toasted almonds.
A full finish with Morello cherry, peat smoke and sweetness.
