Marlborough winemaker Simon Waghorn is one of New Zealand's best producers of Sauvignon Blanc and he makes three very different styles of it under his Astrolabe label, including this wine which is 100% Awatere grapes and a flinty, fresh style. 

The Awatere Valley is one of three main sub regions in Marlborough, south of the region's main growing area on the Wairau Plains. Its southern location and proximity to the coast gives the Awatere cooler temperatures and sea breezes which produce flavours of green herbs and super refreshing acidity.

This is a consistently outstanding Sauvignon Blanc, which highlights another string to Marlborough's white wine bow.
