“This is a very inaugural release of Valli’s “Out of the Shadows” series. Every once in a while, there are those special one or two barrels a winemaker would like to bottle separately, hide in the warehouse, pull out of the shadows and share once they are approaching maturity. In 2012, a single vineyard site along Waitaki Valleys Grants Road provided such a wine. It is now time to share and while this wine is beginning to show the complexity that can only come with age, we expect it will last and improve for another 4 or 5 years.” – Grant Taylor

Harvested 4th May 2012. 30% whole bunch fruit, fermented in 33% new oak, 66% one year, for 11 months. Unfined, unfiltered. 1560 bottles total production.
