?A wonderful stream of dark purple flows into the glass, this is a straight-up a WOW+. Notes of cassis, bright red berries, western red cedar, lavender, liquorice, crushed blackcurrants. Very deep black in the colour right to the edge of the glass. The palate is huge in texture and has layer after layer of concentrated fruits. This is a full-bodied and robust wine with a lovely core of energy. Currently, this is wound up pretty tight but will unfurl over many years. In the end, I am met with a lot of pleasure from this bottling and I like and respect is shyness as a young wine and feel that it has the persistence and clarity to make very old bones. This is a gobsmacking ride that is best decanted and enjoyed with a hard cheese and good friends. The tannin chain is juicy and long and the fruit reverberates all-around your mouth on a long a distinguished palate, YUM+?
