Steve Smith MW and Brian Sheth share a love for the same things: fine wine, Aotearoa New Zealand and enjoying life?s pleasures. They met in Hawke?s Bay over a glass of Chardonnay and in 2014 realised their vision of founding a wine dream together. That dream was to craft impeccable wines from vineyards of exceptional quality and to create experiences where they could share these wines with like-minded people.

The Cantera is something a little different, combining the best of French & Spanish varieties, with a dash of Hawkes Bay Terroir.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc

Very dense, almost opaque black cherry colour. Hedonistic aromas of blackcurrant, cigar box, vanilla, cedar and violets provide an overwhelming but composed impact on the nose. The palate is similarly generous with abundant flavours of blueberry, dark plum and blackcurrant alongside a creamy vanilla and warm pastry-like texture, delicious fine pencil lead and toast, finishing with the distinctive iodine and stony texture of fine Gimblett Gravels red wine.
