The STONE wines are grown at Elephant Hill's vineyard within the renowned Gimblett Gravels Wine Growing District. This inland sub-region is formed on deep beds of pure gravel and silt beside the Ngaruroro River. The rocky soils, which retain and radiate heat from the sun, ripens the classic red varieties well to produce mid-full bodied, richly flavoured, precise and well-structured wines with beautifully pure fruit characteristics. This is a one-off limited release of Cabernet Franc from an exceptional vintage.
Deep crimson. Beautiful graphite, pure blackcurrant, herb garden aromas with cedar notes. Inky deep wine with deep set blackberry blackcurrant fruits, persistent grippy tannins and savoury oak notes, Finishes chocolaty/ cedar firm with fine graphite plume. Muscular but highly toned wine with excellent density and vinosity.
