Founded in 1850 by the Duveau family, Domaine des Roches Neuves was taken up by Thierry and Marie Germain in 1991.
Spanning 12 hectares with Cabernet Franc at the time, the domain grew with 2 hectares of Chenin and 8 more hectares of Cabernet Franc in 1996.
The vineyard expanded with new plots in 2012: Clos de l?Echelier and Les M?moires.
The winery completely converted all its operations for organic winegrowing in the late 1990s, then transitioned to biodynamic methods in the early 2000s.\
Timid, distinguished, and still somewhat reserved, the first nose gives a glimpse of truly wonderful promises ahead.
After a little chance to breath, the wine progressively delivers its secrets and origins. The second nose expresses fruit (black currant, blueberry, cherry, blackberry, raspberry), and reveals hints of flowers (iris , violet, peony), plants (cedar, mint), and spices (pepper, clove, cinnamon).
A complex wine expressing the full Cabernet Franc fruit.
Stewed fruitiness brings richness to the palate. Pleasant acidity, notes of eucalyptus and bergamot.
The overall aspect yields a supple, fine, and elegant wine with a long finish.
