Enjou?e means joyful, and a joyful glass of light, bright Loire red is just what you'll get here. It's lifted in aromatics, with florals and spice. The fruit is red berried, and it's delicate and fresh to taste. Cabernet Franc is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau, Gamay and Pineau d?Aunis (we hadn't heard of this one either), and all are organically grown. The winemaking maintains a lighter touch, with macerations not exceeding 6 days.
The Ogereau family have been wine growing in the Loire Valley for 5 generations. In it's current iteration, it's run by Vincent and his son Emmanuel. Located by the Layon River, a tributary of the Loire, they're highly respected for both their Chenin Blanc and reds. Since Emmanuel has been involved, he's been focused on converting vineyards to organic farming, and the estate has been certified since 2019.
The Grolleau expresses itself on a flowery and spicy nose. The Pineau d?Aunis lengthens the finish on the palate with its pepper. The Gamay supports the spices and flowers of the Grolleau. Finally, the Cabernet brings to the whole a fine infused texture and crispy red fruits. The Enjou?e rouge is full of pleasure, freshness and delicacy.
