Founded by Francis Tete, a barrel manufacturer and cellar manager, then passed to his son, Raymond, who pioneered direct selling to consumers at the domain, Clos du Fief is a rare 4th generation domaine in Julienas, based at the far Northwest sector of Beaujolais.
Since 1980, Michel and Fran?oise Tete have developed it and established in 1988 the "Domaine du Clos du Fief". Michel works the old-fashioned way: low yields, meticulously farmed vineyards, and classic winemaking resulting in serious and mouthwatering examples of terroir driven reds. This family domain covers three Beaujolais Crus for a total of 13 hectares planted of Gamay.
From their home of Julianas, the T?te family is making some of the most delicious wine Beaujolais has to offer. This Beaujolais Villages is made with Semi-Carbonic maceration, giving it juicyness but also complexity, a nice example of Beaujolais.
Great next to lamb tagine, chicken curry, tomato tartlettes
