Te Awanga Estate is a family owned wine business born out of a love of making wine the Hawke’s Bay. In 2006 the Rod McDonald began searching out great vineyard sites that would eventually supply the grapes to make the great wines of the future. He has an enduring purpose: to grow, harvest and craft world class wines. And smile while doing it.
The gang at Te Awanga are the first to admit they have a deep and enduring love for our region’s Syrah and Chardonnay, but this is not to say they don’t also think fondly of all the others. From Pinot Gris to Pinot Noir, Rosé to Cab Merlot.
