Ratu means "chief" in Fijian. This line of molasses rum comes from 'one of Fiji's unique distilleries:Rum Co. of Fiji.
According to legend, the name Lautoka means "spear blow" in a duel between two Fijian chiefs. The town of Lautoka is also the headquarters of the Rum Co of Fiji distillery. Produced in limited series, Ratu Lautoka is aged for 16 years in 200-liter American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Half of the rum is aged for an additional six months in 30 year old Muscat barrels before being blended.
