In 1850, Carlo returns from France with an idea: to create the first Italian sparkling wine using the typical techniques of champagne production but with a different wine base. By reworking concepts learned in France and applying them to the Moscato grapes, Gancia created a new type of Champagne, called Spumante Italiano. Thus Carlo became the depositary and the author of the official rules of the first Italian Classic Method.
Since then Gancia's history has been a continuous series of experimenting and innovation to reach the accomplishment of a complete and unique line of Classic Method and Charmat Method sparkling wines, suitable for accompanying all the extraordinary moments of life.
A sweet, pleasant and fresh tasting wine, of great softness and stable balance, with good persistence and a fruity finish. Excellent as a base for cocktails.
