Beaujolais is on the comeback thanks to great family estates like this. Domaine Piron was founded during the reign of Louis XIII and today has 95 hectares of vines throughout Beaujolais' finest villages, a third of them in Morgon. 14th-generation winemaker Dominique Piron has joined up with a friend from the appellation, Julien Revillon, and together they have a vision to produce Beaujolais as fine as any Burgundy. They go to great lengths to achieve this, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. This is their vibrant Nouveau – delicious, fruit-laden Beaujolais, made for joyful easy drinking. It's the style the locals adore – light and flavoursome packed with juicy red fruits and suppleness. You'll find it perfect with pâtés and cold meats.
