A Cognoscente refers to someone with an advanced knowledge in a subject, in our case wine.
The concept of a workshop refers to a place where ideas are shared, problems are solved and things are made. The ‘Cogno’ wines are more recognised, approachable varieties and winemaking techniques whilst their ‘Hyphen’ wines are the boundary pushers.

Ant McKenzie and the team at Cognoscente believe the concept of wine appreciation is driven by being able to recognise the sensory elements, being able to combine these with past experiences, and to hopefully arrive at a future point of enjoyment.

The Cognoscente Syrah pours a deep red with hints of purple and blue.
Fruity aromas of blueberry and cranberry with some complexity. Chinese five spice and a roasted meat nuance. All of the aromatic notes come through strongly on the palate and along with the colour, taste and feel elements the sensory picture is complete.
