Glendalough Distillery was founded in 2011 by friends Barry Gallagher, Brian Fagan, Gary McLoughlin and Kevin Keenan with the intent to emphasise traditional methods of Irish distillation in the belief that the industry and market were ready for a return of independent Irish whiskey.

Glendalough {The Valley of two lakes} is a deep, glacial valley nestled in the Wicklow Mountains, just south of Dublin. Renowned for its natural, scenic beauty, the area is known as “The Garden of Ireland”.

Glendalough is also home to a 6th-century monastic settlement founded by St Kevin, a legendary monk, an inspiration and of course, the man on the Glendalough bottle!
