Jean-Marc Burgaud, wizard winemaker in Morgon, introduced us to his cousin Alexandre?s superb Beaujolais Villages. The wine comes from old vines in the village of Lantigni? which is regarded as being the best location for Beaujolais Villages. The wine is made in classical Beaujolais style with the stems retained.

Although it was a warm year, Alexandre kept his cool and harvested early to capture as much freshness in the wine as possible. Floral with notes of succulent just ripe raspberry, cherry and some fine tannins giving it a pleasant structure.
