Tasting Note: Well this sure has been a long time coming. As professionals of Pinot Noir, the addition of its bedfellow, Chardonnay, was somewhat inevitable. Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated wine we’ve released to date. A rich OG Chardonnay, we’re not shying from the classics here, but imparting our Vinteloper twist and cool climate restraint. Acid profile. Structure. Citrus. Grapefruit pithiness. Powerful fruit profile. A rich Chardonnay Chardonnay. No doubting it is a full bodied style, showing its complexity and depth, balance and integration.
Winemaking Notes: In the vineyard, the maturity of bunches was closely monitored prior to harvest. Hand picked into small bins to prevent any damage from transport, we whole bunch pressed directly to barrel for wild yeast fermentation. Old school Chardonnay making… Post fermentation lees contact for mid palate texture before racking and prep for bottling in February 2019. Full malolactic fermentation completed during a maturation period of 12 months in seasoned French oak. 15% new oak.
