The incontestable treasure of Alvear?s brandies, this Gran Reserva has been aged for 15 years in American oak barrels that were previously used for ageing Alvear's dessert wine Pedro Xim?nez. The fact that the barrels were used for ageing dessert wine imparts a realm of additional aromas and flavours to the brandy that lend it considerable complexity.  On the nose, sweet spice cake, raisins, and brioche give way to an expressive palate reflecting similar flavours along with toast and coffee. 

This is a classic after-dinner spirit with tremendous warmth and mellow maturity.
