Alchemy 2019 Chardonnay was created from selectively picked fruit, which was whole bunch pressed and fermented and aged in French oak barrels for a year. The resulting wine displays aromas of nectarine and baking spice, with a crème fraîche complexity. The texture is rich and broad, as a result of the perfectly ripened fruit and barrel and malolactic fermentations.

Nestled near Puketapu and perfectly positioned on the Omarunui plains, the Alchemy vines have grown and been nurtured here for over 20 years.  The vineyard is blessed with the perfect site. A marriage of soil from an old river floodplain with a microclimate featuring cool nights and hot days.

The first vintage of Alchemy Wine was produced in 2010. While its reputation may have grown since then, the ambition of Alchemy has stayed the same. To create small batches of beautifully crafted, carefully curated wine.
