Given as much love as possible, the Meltwater Pinot Noir is hand picked and sorted on arrival at the winery. Picked on the cusp of ripeness with minimal intervention. Mike tells us Incorporating 80% whole cluster and a gentle extraction regime was stylistically bang-on for this vintage.  Natural ferment took off nicely and the wine stayed on skins for 12 days with a light punchdown regime, to minimise extraction. From there it was into a mix of two and three-year-old French oak barrels where it remained until late spring 2019. The wine was then racked to tank and allowed to settle before bottling unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulphur in February 2020.

Super generous aromatics with a quirky blend of freshness and earthiness that we love. The palate is succulent and bright with a smack of sappiness to give interest and depth. Delicious.
