The 2010 released Amarone finish from Arran. This has a similar style to the brilliant Sassicaia finish. Amarone is dry Italian red made using partially dried Corvina grapes, Rondinella grapes and Molinara

The nose is strong and sweet with red fruits that crave for attention, cherries, raspberries and some strawberries.  The palate is strong onset, very full-bodied and oily. At the beginning a dominant fruitiness is present along with chocolate, almonds, nuts and caramel.  The finish is medium as red fruits contrast vinous notes, which gradually cause a noticeable dryness with a slight bitterness.
