Since 1889, five generations of the Valdemar Family have produced some of the finest wines from Rioja. It was Joaquín Martínez Bujanda who started the company with 10 hectares of vines in Rioja Alavesa and over the years the estate has expanded to include some of the best vineyards across the region. Chosen as one of the 5 Best Wine Cellars of Rioja by Wine & Spirits magazine their Conde Valdemar range of wines includes the crisp, energetic Viura white and a selection of beautifully made Tempranillo from Crianza to Reserva and the top-of-the-range Gran Reserva, a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Maturana from the family vineyards in Rioja.

Made up of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, Garnacha, spending 30 months in a combination of French and American Oak, this is something quite special!
The Gran Riserva displays an attractive and intense red ruby colour, clean and bright. Intense and complex aromas of concentrated black fruit. Hints of coffee, black liquorice, truffle and balsamic notes of eucalyptus. Elegant, smooth, tasty, with a strong personality and a very long aftertaste.
