Portuguese wines are on trend globally, thanks to the discovery of the country's vast range of interesting indigenous grape varieties, mostly red, such as the four that make up this tasty, dry, full bodied blend, produced by Casa Santos Lima -  a large family owned winery in Portugal.

This wine is a red blend of 4 Portuguese grapes, all of which are virtually unknown except when grown in Portugal. They are...

  • Touriga Nacional, Castelao, Camarate & Tinta Miuda
  • And they are grown on clay and limestone soils

Castelao is Portugal?s most widely planted grape and it provides this wine with its signature rich dark licorice and ripe blueberry flavours, which are nicely balanced by the bold dark fruity flavours of the other three grapes in the blend. All of the grapes in this wine were fermented in temperature controlled tanks up to 30 degrees C and aged for three to four months in oak; a relatively brief time, which allows the rich fruit flavours to shine and be the hero.

This incredibly affordable Portuguese red is sealed with a screwcap for freshness and its bold bright smooth flavours and style are a hit with wine lovers. This is a crowd pleaser at the next level.
