Father's Day all the way from Thurso! From Wolfburn distillery, here we have their 2022 Father's Day bottling. This 7 year old single malt has been bottled at cask strength 58.2%, and was matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks, bringing wonderful sweetness and a touch of smoke. The nose has a fresh fruity, vanilla character with a surrounding of sweet sherry essence, hints of toffee, spice and caramel. Quite a mouthful! Full of chocolate truffles and sticky toffee puddings, mineral with hints of earthy peat smoke. Caramel leads out the finish, accompanied by toffee and a dusting of demerara sugar, long and lingering with a wisp of smoke.
